Austrian Village Bar & Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Austrian Village Bar & Restaurant feels like crossing a cozy threshold into a warm, inviting corner of Europe tucked away in Jenkintown. The pace here slows just enough to savor the simple pleasures — the hum of quiet conversations mingling with clinks from the bar, the comforting glow from softly lit fixtures, and the subtle aromas that tease the senses even before a plate arrives.
The atmosphere carries a gentle familiarity, where the long communal tables and wood accents invite both friends and strangers to settle in without rush. It’s the kind of place where the bar buzzes quietly with a carefully curated beer selection, many with roots in German and Austrian traditions, encouraging you to linger a little longer over a cold pour.
Dining at Austrian Village is less about just eating and more about experiencing a story on a plate. Here, hearty, authentic dishes arrive with thoughtful touches that echo heritage and home-cooked care—from tender schnitzels with just the right crispness to the gentle tang of red cabbage and spätzle served alongside. The flavors invite conversation, creating human moments that feel genuine rather than staged.
Beyond food, there's a warmth in the service and the quiet attentiveness of the staff that makes the experience personal. The space itself reveals surprises as you explore—roomier than you might expect, with a relaxed vibe that makes it a favored retreat for both longtime locals and newcomers seeking solid, soulful fare paired with friendly faces.
For those looking to connect over something satisfying and unpretentious, whether it’s a casual dinner or a laid-back evening at the bar, this little village offers a modest, earnest refuge. It’s a place that wears its history lightly and welcomes you like a familiar guest — one who’s just in time for the next round and a taste of something truly homegrown.

Great food! Really authentic German/Austrian food just like back home! Good beer selection at the bar as well. Definitely can recommend the Schnitzel. Not too thick and nice and crisp. Definitely will come back to this place. Nice atmosphere and the service is great!

Went for the German beer and stayed for the food. Had the bratwurst/knockwurst combo with German potato salad and red cabbage. Everything was spot on! Almost forgot, the sauerkraut bombs are out of this world, and I’m not the biggest fan of sauerkraut!

Good solid food, reasonable prices, decent domestic & German beer selection. Larger inside than it first appears.

One of our families' all-time favorite restaurants. The food is always top-notch, and the environment is warm and inviting. Great beer and amazing service. Fun merchandise available. My personal favorite is the farmers' feast!

Me & my husband enjoy this place very much! Mostly him he's more of the German food lover. But I do find things I like. The most recent first time meal was their kielbasa & perogies (I know it's more Polish than German) they were amazing!!

I love the Schnitzel and the Salzburger. There aren't very many restaurants in the area that serve German food, so this is a treat. I just wish they still had live music and open mic night.

Listen , to make a long story short we brought a friend of ours who was visiting from California but grew up in Austria and he shed a tear for real when he walked in that place! said it was like being in his small village back home. true story hand to God! We ate and drank the food was unreal delicious, friendly staff, and the price was very reasonable! its a must visit!
